I'm having trouble printing checks with my new dot matrix printer...

As one technician told us, "These new printers are so smart that they bypass the computer and take control themselves!" Several of the new dot matrix printers have a mind of their own and do not give you much control in changing any of their features, like turning off the automatic line or form feed. This causes one or two checks to print correctly and then the check begins printing incorrectly by a line or two.

We have found, in several instances, that installing an older dot matrix printer driver, like Epson FX-286, and setting it as your default printer driver, eliminates unusual form or line feed problems. These older printer drivers tend to pay closer attention to the computer's instructions.
